Look at those baby blues....

In a few short months I'll have a 2 year old, and I honestly can't believe it, but for now I'm enjoying him at 20 months. He's trying to repeat most everything we say and absolutely loves to play basketball with his small Fisher Price hoop. He's even become a fantastic rebounder for daddy. :) His favorite thing to watch on TV is "Finding Nemo". Our babysitter brought it over one night and he's been hooked ever since. Everything is just great, and we are loving life with our little angel!! Hugs and Kisses from Jack to everyone!

Bye, Bye CONTACTS!

Today is the last time I will wear contacts, FOREVER! This Friday I am undergoing LASIK eye surgery, and I'm so very excited! It's scary to think about having any kind of surgery, but from the research I've done, and from the people I know who've already had LASIK, I'm confident I have nothing to worry about. My doctor, Dr. Doane of Discover O Vision Centers, has performed over 30,000 surgeries, so I know I'm in good hands.

Wish me luck, as my nerves are beginning to sink in. :) I'll be sure to write, post-surgery with an update.

The BIG TWO-SEVEN!!

I celebrated my 27th birthday on Thursday, February 18th, and although the idea of getting older isn't the most exciting thing, my birthday was truly perfect.

Thursday began with opening my eyes to these lovely flowers on my bathroom counter, and to my son hand delivering two cards to me, one from him and one from my hubby.

The day continued with phone calls from my nieces, and family members, and then with a knock at our door; a special delivery. This time I opened the box to find 20 of the biggest chocolate covered strawberries I had ever seen...YUMMY! (Thanks Mom and Dad)

After a delicious meal at Texas Roadhouse with my husband and son, and great gift of 2 Black Eyed Peas tickets (from my wonderful hubby), I couldn't believe how perfect my birthday had been, until, I was SURPRISED by my husband and 11 of our closest friends on Friday the 19th with a dinner and evening out planned in my honor. I was completely speechless, and so thankful for the wonderful friends we have who try their best to make you feel special on an important day.
Check out these awesome hand-made invitations (courtesy of Laura and Jess) that were mailed out to the guests. :)

It was a truly FABULOUS birthday, and I couldn't be more thankful for the love and support I felt from these great friends who made me feel so special on my birthday.
LOVE YOU ALL!!

P.S....More photos to come :)

ARUBA- February 2010

My husband and I spent the past 5 days on an AFLAC trip in Aruba. His Broker Development Coordinator, Ken, was one of the top 3 coordinators in the company, which meant he qualifieto bring his State Sales Coordinator (my husband and I). YAY!!!

We had a fantastic time in Aruba back in 2006, but fell in love with the Island all over again this time around. We stayed at the Renaissance Marina hotel this time, which gave us exclusive access to a private island, and 2 different pools. The hotel was located right in town, and we traveled all over the island each night for very different, yet amazing meals.

I took several photos of iguanas as they swarm the island, enjoyed my first crepe` at the Dutch Pancake House, took my first helicopter ride around the entire island, and enjoyed sunning the the absolutely perfect Aruba weather.

Here are a few photos from the trip of the four of us. There were around 30 people in the entire group, and we enjoyed meeting some Aflac folks that we never had the opportunity to hang out with before.

Over the weekend...

We spent time in Owensville, MO with my husbands family. Papa Harrison hasn't been feeling well, so we wanted to spend some time with him and Nana to cheer them up! :) Here are a couple photos I snapped of Jack while we were there.
We got a great workout on Saturday morning, as we shoveled about 3 inches of snow off of the 150 ft driveway. It actually felt great getting out there and working up a sweat, but the next day I hurt in places I didn't even know I had muscles. :)
We were able to watch our niece, Sadie, play basketball (she was awesome) and enjoyed some down time with the entire family.

We'll be on the go again this time next week, as I fly Jack to INDIANA to spend 4 or 5 days with my parents so the hubby and I travel to ARUBA on a mini-vaca. Yes, another Aflac trip, we are so very blessed with amazing travel opportunities and understanding parents who are willing to watch our child. XOXO
