Friends

It's interesting, the whole "friendship thing". From an early age we are taught, or we somehow learn, that our "best friends" are those we do EVERYTHING with, those we tell EVERYTHING to, and those who know EVERYTHING about us. For so many years I measured my level of friendship with those close to me by these factors. Finally, at my old age, it's interesting to think about my best friends now, and almost funny to think back to the days that I had friendship so twisted!

I can pick up the phone, after weeks or even months without talking to them and we can pick up right where we left off. I can tell them exactly what I think, without having to sugar coat my feelings. I can end the call by saying I Love You, and truly mean it! Friendship today is something I cherish, something so special, and something I am so very grateful for.
To all of you friends out there, thank you for being such a big part of my life, and thank you for being there while I figured the whole "friendship thing" out! :)
